Solutions I Surface preparation
Surface activation
The non-polarity of plastics and their low wettability mean that they systematically require pre-treatment before painting.
These pre-treatments, which are often physical in type (plasma, flame or corona), increase the surface tension of the plastic substrate, which then promotes the adhesion of the paint coating and also increases the cleanliness of the substrate by burning off any traces of oil or grease.
PaintSys has succeeded in automating these different processes by integrating them into multi-axis robots or by designing special machines.
Working in collaboration with the various suppliers of this type of equipment, PaintSys is able to integrate surface activation devices into the line.
PaintSys also has proven experience in coating processes such as plasma metal spraying combined with specific precursor gases.
